If you have applied already to the doctoral program or are a newly admitted incoming doctoral student:

Complete a Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellowship Program application.  You will find a link to the application on the Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellows program website. 

Steps to complete the application: 

1.  Secure a Faculty Advisor from S&T

a. Connect with an S&T Faculty member who holds your research interest and will serve as your advisor during the Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellowship.

i. Let them know your research interest, your plans for study at S&T, and state that you are interested in applying to the Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellowship Program and are seeking a nomination. 

ii. Once you confirm that the faculty is willing to nominate you, enter their name and contact information in the Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellowship application. 

iii. A nomination form will be sent directly to the faculty member's email you enter. 

2.   Complete the Kummer I&E Doctoral Fellowship essay questions within the application as directed.

A candidate also should recognize the benefits of innovation and entrepreneurial spirit to society, and will consider opportunities to commercialize their research upon graduation. In addition to a strong academic record, the candidate should possess leadership, communication, and decision-making skills, and demonstrate the attributes of successful graduate researchers, including intellectual curiosity, tenacity, energy, and a collaborative mindset.
